Goodbye, Scary stories and a module Cupcake Giveaway

document.write ('-');While a few of you, just like my mother, found this cupcake cute ... .. most of you seemed to find her frightening.  I could blame the designer of MS Cupcake (which remain nameless-but it's someone in my household). However, since it was designed on the basis of a sketch that I pulled, I can only blame itself.

Fortunately, I recently renewed a friendship with an incredibly talented illustrator, Emma Hand Snap stories.  Emma agreed to make my blog look pretty (bye bye, scary cupcake) in exchange for some commercial and family photo work of j. Pollack photography.  Win win!!

I love the illustrations that Emma did for my blog (the RSS button is my favorite-how about you?), and I'm also really excited about our plans to collaborate on some projects on the road (still no hints).  But, despite all the work she's done for my blog, the best thing she has done for our household can design my son's favorite board book.

Emma's line of books, stories, you can Snap a cute book with ten of your own snapshots.  What kid doesn't like a book about himself?
The funniest part of Snap stories is that you don't need any special tools to your custom book-no scrapbooking corners, glue, paste, or scissors.  Each page of the book includes double-stick tape, so you can just stick your picture right.  It is easy enough that you can book together with a child and set up a craft project out of it.

How to win a book stories module

To celebrate the completion of this phase of the Cupcake Project design upgrade (it will be an ongoing project), Emma is giving away different stories Snap books.  To enter, head over to her blog and leave a comment there (comments here on Cupcake Project are always welcome, but they will not get included in this contest).

Good luck!

Indian Corn Cupcakes for Indian summer

Hello Cupcakers!

We know that it is only the beginning of September, but when children head back to school we start thinking had fallen. It is still fairly warm, so you can call this an Indian Summer. And the best way to celebrate the Indian Summer than by making Indian Corn Cupcakes. We took the idea for corn on the cob cupcakes in Hello, Cupcake! and in our latest book, what's new, Cupcake? We exchanged yellow and White jelly beans to russets, oranges, creams and gold medals. Jelly Belly has a wide range of colors and all variants taste great together. We start by mixing maize design of all our jellybean colors together in a bowl. And then we use them in whatever order they come out of the dish. This makes the pattern more random. We decided to try a variation of maize cocoa shells, also. In the book we used the WNC phyllo dough. But here we tr?de ' why not use maize cocoa shells?» We got these right from the grocery freezer section (at the same time they are made to wrap tamales). We opened the package, spread cocoa shells on paper towels, and let them air dry. We cut them into long narrow shapes and curled them slightly to place around the cupcakes as a garnish. This makes a great dessert a hub for all of the collection. Complete the recipe is on page 160 in the news, Cupcake? And corn husk variation used here makes the project even easier than before!

Honey Nutella Rice Krispie treats

Rice Krispie treats are on a short list of kid-friendly, three-ingredient, always popular things to bring to a holiday party without resorting to a store-bought snack.  Most people will be pleasantly smile when you show with them, the host will put them out on the dessert table, and they will get eaten. They will, however, the Dasher or Prancer of desserts-certainly not the steal-the-show-and-save-Christmas Rudolph.

Arrive at your case with this honey, Nutella Rice Krispie treats and heads will change if Santa himself had just walked in the door.  It is your choice whether you share the secret that honey, Nutella Rice Krispie treats are just as easy to prepare as the original Rice Krispie treats-only three ingredients and a microwave. If you want, you can tell people that little Elves worked all day on them (they'll never have to know that the Elves were your children and that most of the works was licking the spoon Nutella-stuffed).

How to make honey Nutella Rice Krispie treats

You'll notice that when you read the ingredients below that I don't actually use Nutella or Rice Krispies. Is this a case of false advertising? Not really. I thought it would be if I called Justin's nut butter recipe honey Erewhon crispy brown rice cereal treats people not very excited about it; not to mention the fact that I'm not even sure how to say the word "erewhon".

Yield: an 8 x 8 glass baking dish of treats (doubling the recipe if you prefer taller treats-treats will be thicker, but will still fit in the same baking dish.)

Combine in a medium sized microwave safe bowl, honey and Nutella and microwave for 30 seconds. Rudder.  Honey and Nutella have warm and thoroughly combined.  If not, continue for 10 seconds at a time when microwave and stir until they are. (If you don't have a microwave, heat in a medium saucepan over medium heat for 5 minutes.)Mix Rice Krispies in the bowl and stir, all of the Krispies. Spread mixture into an 8 x 8 coating glass baking dish.Refrigerator for at least three hours.Cut into squares and eat!Coming Soon

Soon, I have more fun with Rice Krispie treats, and a related cupcake.

Karen and Alan tends Bar at food network CANDY event

Mini Cupcake Cocktails

We have been in love with our cupcake cocktails ever since we designed them to our news newsletter (if you do not know whether what is newsletter please go sign to the next question www.hellocupcakebook.com where you will also find directions in order to make these little potions).

When the remote control functionality of food network's wine and Food Festival and Jelly Belly came to us and asked if we would be interested in participating in this event at this year's Festival SWEETS tr?de we Cupcake Cocktails would be perfect. Then we found out we need to earn 1000 of the event, when we invented the Mini Cupcake Cocktail.

This small drink is now not a full cupcake like our Cupcake Cocktail full size. You need to actually use the cupcake. It can also be done with frozen pound cake (Sara Lee). But we are of rightholders against cupcake. In order to make the Mini Cocktail, we filled the bottom of a mini Martini glass with about 10 of any single favor by Jelly Belly Cocktail classics jelly beans. So we added a 3/8 inch slices of cupcake cut into 1 1/2 inch circle on top of the beans. Next we topped cupcake slices with frosting tinted in vibrant cocktail colors to match beans and garnished with additional beans of the same taste and a cocktail fork. What a fun small dessert. It is precisely the right part, when you know you want tasting other desserts, easy to carry around an event or a party, and just as easy to eat while you mixed with cocktail fork is part of the design.

This event was amazing. It was who's who in food and restaurants in New York City. Jean George, Tom Colicchio, Francois Payard, Daniel Boulud, Stanford Tavern and Clinton Street baking to mention just a few of the more than 50 participants. Food Network's Guy Fieri Sandra Lee was there, as well as and cake Nobel prizes as Ben Israel. Once we got to meet Ace cakes Duff Goldman!

We did this fantastic Mini Cupcake Cocktail Tower for the table.
There is a little light in the tower for the effect dramatic lighting.

Of course, the further we not everywhere without maize COB Cupcakes!

(A) the closing of our Mini Cupcake Cocktails. It looks like just a beautiful swirl of frosting with a few jelly beans from the top,
But underneath is the fun part.It is where we hide our slices of cupcake and even more Jelly Belly beans.
We used the Peach Bellini and pomegranate Cosmo and frosting in matching shades of yellow, and pink.

It is Duff Goldman Charm City cake on the extreme right wing.
It had iridescent frosting and striking the city scenes in a spiral around the design of the cake. Gorgeous!

And it is up to us with the fabulous Tammie Gates from Jelly Belly.
Lighting Mini Cupcake Cocktail Tower was Tammie's inspiration.
Thank Tammie and thanks to the Jelly Belly for inviting us.
We love your prayers!

What a fantastic event. We were charmed everyone we met and had a fabulous time. We believe our Mini Cupcake Cocktails was a big hit with the crowd. We recommend this small dessert for any fun party or event.

Maverick digital Candy thermometer Giveaway

I have patience in some areas of my life.  In one of my pre-cupcake jobs, I trained computer neophytes, they walk by these fundamental principles how the arrow keys to navigate in a document and when double-clicking vs. right click want to use (to make sure to clarify that right click does not mean that the word "click" write in Notepad).  These days, I can sing Itsy-bitsy Spider to my toddler and still enjoy its wide mouthed grin on the twentieth extradition.  However, when it comes to standing by a stove to go up on a candy thermometer, I have zero patience.  I tend to walk away and just in time to see my caramel/candy/something in my pot inedible and burnt come back.  I have a timer that will beep to tell me when my cupcakes were made, but I had never seen a candy thermometer with any kind of warning function always set.

I asked my tweeps if anyone had heard of a candy thermometer that beeps when it reaches the right temperature.  Gesine Bullock-Prado, author of cakes of a closet Master Baker: one woman Sweet journey of unfortunate Hollywood Executive to Bakerhappy country, responded immediately to tell me aboutthe Maverick!  This was the thermometer of my dreams (if I was dreaming of thermometers).

I left the people at Maverick an email letting them know that I couldn't wait to get their product to view and share with my readers.  They were game and sent me a candy thermometer to immediately (I love being a cupcake blogger!).  I put the Maverick to test on my Shirley Temple lollies.  The lollipop recipe warned not to walk away from the pan.  Yet, I encourage the Maverick set to the setting hard crack and wandered off to do something else.  I trusted my new best friend Maverick (not that sounds like a cool boy's name-give me credit if you your son that the name) completely and it didn't let me down.  It beeped in exactly 300 F and my lollipops were perfect on the first try.

You must create a Maverick?

Maverick is giving away a Maverick Candy thermometer to a Cupcake Project reader!  To enter, leave a comment on this post (Facebook, Twitter or e-mail responses do not count for this giveaway) with the following:

Miso ice cream

Ice cream that tastes like a cross between miso soup, soy sauce and salted caramel people can shocks.  You will find that most not a super-sized waffle cone of miso ice cream will want.  Instead, miso ice cream is best served next to another dessert.  A small dose of miso ice cream would be a good thing next to a torte pear, an apple cobbler or a plate of gingersnap cookies.  It can also be piled on top or at the side of your favorite Asian-inspired cupcake.

Miso ice cream recipe

I found the miso ice cream recipe on the free library.  It was served with Sesame-crisp pears, and cranberries sake-poached (if I were not so warm cupcakes, I may have that exact dessert pairing-you don't want to try it?).  Here is my reprint of the recipe in my own words and with a conversion to U.S. measurements.

Yield: 2 quarts
1/2 C sugar1/4 C + 2 tablespoons red miso (the original recipe for white miso mentioned, but the store was of red and it worked well) 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 C honey1 1/4 C whole regard ei yolk3 c heavy whipping a medium saucepan over medium-high heat creamIn, combine sugar, salt, miso, honey and milk.Stir continuously until it is approximately to the boil and then remove from the fire.Place egg yolks in a medium mixing bowl.Pour the milk mixture over egg yolks, mixing to combine.Whisk in cream.Pour mixture into ice cream maker, and then follow the manufacturer's instructions.Note: In the photo above, I the ice topped with black sesame seeds.

31 Jan, cashmere men's scarves

Mens Cashmere shawl

What could be more luxurious than men's cashmere scarf? Soft, glossy, lightweight yarn, which goes into that is the reason why. Cashmere shawl is not only elegant, but also warm.

Cashmere yarn comes from the cashmere goat and the other goats. High in the mountains of Mongolian wool is hand plucked every year. It is then woven into either two or three layer yarn on luxury clothes.Base the goat is in order and the outer layer is more direct and gross. The strength of the fibre comes from a combination of two types of fleece.

Mechanical process separates the coarse fleece from fines. After this step, Kashmir is ready to be converted into yarn, and may end up in clothes. Yarn is a big demand for its durability and heat.

Different types of men's Cashmere shawl is growing. As time passes, the dyeing process allows the design to the finished product. Most of the squares are in neutral tones, go with the majority of men's clothing. However, there are some that appear.

You can also mix with Cashmere, silk, the brighter the yarn. Softness remains almost the same and there is heat. Also available are silk scarves, which on the one hand, and Kashmir, on the other hand. The options are virtually unlimited.

Some people may be hesitant to purchase clothing because of the cleaning process. Cleaning the headscarf is not a big problem. It is not appropriate to always dry cleaning scarf. Yarn may be damaged, the chemicals used in the purification process.

Cashmere yarn needs some special treatment. It will be maintained, is the luxurious texture. The spots, which are very bad can be dry cleaned, however.

Manual washing of clothing made from Kashmir yarn is the appropriate method. Using a very mild detergent, lukewarm water or even children's shampoo and lukewarm water is best. Rinse the yarn in the cold water. Keep the softness in the process of cleaning, you can use some conditioning in flushing. Not wringing of the scarf. Place it on the towel, which has no dye and roll the towel. It will drain the water from the yarn. It may have to be done more than once. Place the scarf to different towel and was lying on the stand for a sweater.

After a few clean your cashmere yarn pills. It is not a brush, the garment. Do not use cleaners, floor-cloth. Cleaning clothes in water helps remove the pills. The rest should be deleted from the yarn by hand.

Your scarf mens cashmere can be safely stored during the warmer period. Be sure to complete the cleaning process before saving. Protect the yarn from moles by maintaining a scarf in airtight plastic container with mothballs or Cedar chips. Your scarf it will take many of the cold season with due care.

Do you have a great story or tips? Share!

Thank you in advance for sharing.

This wave comes from under the belly and the goat, which is a unique breed found in Nepal. Goats are kept in freezing temperatures from the Himalayas so they need their wool, to keep warm. These goats shed their wool each spring and as a single goat will only free 3-8 ounces of wool in a given time.

NET and is much better quality than other materials. Although it is often common these days and went to the mixed silk to produce in bulk and have a longer useful life.

The quality is still there, but the material is much cheaper, allowing more people to buy and amazing scarves, clothing, or even a poncho.

Nougat with chocolate Malt-such as in the milky way Bars

To making homemade nougat, noga was a mystery to me.  Nougat was the alien tough substance found in my least favorite candy bars.  A request to make of Galaxy cupcakes (more on that in a future post) asked me to research some nougat and ultimately myself.

I learned that while traditional nougat a candy flavoured with nuts is (per Wikipedia: "the word nougat and pan away nogat (Occitan pronunciation: [panu of ?at]), which means nutbread."), the nougat in Galaxy contains no nuts-it is a chocolate malt nougat.  It's made with proteins (such as a meringue), but with the addition of sugar, corn syrup, malted milk powder and chocolate.

Despite my dislike for milky way bars (even before I became a chocolate snob, I loved ultra-sweet candy bars), not I bought one for research purposes.  As a teenager buying condoms, I hoped that I was not spotted by someone who knew me.  Foods that I cannot be very often, they magically delicious when I create.  This was not the case with Nougat.  My homemade nougat was a spot-on match for the Galaxy nougat-sticky and nauseating sweet.  Do you like milky way bars?  You'll love this stuff!

This means that I don't like the Galaxy cupcakes?  Nope.  When I use the nougat mixed in chocolate malt cupcake batter, balance of the candy sweetness harmoniously the not-so-sweet batter. I was so happy with the results.  Give me nougat in a cupcake on nougat on its own every day!

Nougat recipe

I have the "malted milk nougat recipe from Elizabeth LaBau on About.com.  I agree below with a few minor changes and my notes reprints.
2 C granulated sugar sugar2/3 C light corn syrup2/3 C water2 ei whites2 oz chocolate1/3 C unsweetened malted milk powder 1/8 teaspoon saltLine an 8 x 8 pan with parchment.Place the sugar, corn syrup and water in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat and stir until the sugar dissolves.Brush down the sides of the pan with a wet pastry brush to prevent sugar crystals forms (I skipped this step, but had no problems).Cook without stirring until the temperature at a candy thermometer reaches 260 f. Taste Hello, Cupcake! from taste of home!

Halloween is coming and the taste of Home Magazine
invited us out to their test kitchen to stir up some monstrous ideas for the holidays. We had so much fun playing with foam scams, we decided to do everything from them, we created a whole spread of Marshmallow monsters using foam scams and ingredients right out of the pantry to make brilliantly frightening creatures. Just take a look at the big Eyed Marshmallow Monster we created. It has a large Marshmallow with a Junior Mint in mind, and plenty of canned frosting tinted neon green (we use the Duncan Hines creamy Homestyle) with neon food coloring (McCormick). We took the squeeze-release-pull technique from news, Cupcake? create furry fandom frosting uses the texture in a freezer Ziploc bag weight to piping. I love the uncomfortable Nebula, the photographer is used for the photos. Black solid lines are available in cupcake select grocery stores (Reynolds).

When one eye is not enough ... Use mini foam scams and make parties! We used many mini foam scams with orange M and Ms Minis to our Google Eyed Monster. For this one we placed mini Marshmallow eyes at the end of licorice lace and twisted lace to make crazy eyes. We used blue sprinkles neon green frosting increase creep factor.

You can also find a fun twist on our Thanksgiving filled Turkey project from news, Cupcake? in this issue of taste of home. Take a look at the really fun way, we believe you should garnish Turkey in years. See fall issue of taste of home for in your mailbox or pick up on the news. You must meet our whole gang of Marshmallow monsters and get the complete instructions on how to make them.

See videos showing how we made Marshmallow monsters and stuffed Turkey to go to our home page, taste of home. There's even a video that explains how we make a chocolate Haunted House from cupcakes! Click below to watch videos.
Halloween is one of our favorite times of the year, and with these fun cupcake treats we believe that it will be for your family.

Womens Cashmere sweater - a Fine piece of garment

Kashmir is the most luxurious fabric in the world, and I love the feel of it. When you have cashmere in your wardrobe, you probably find one of your most prized possessions. When you are looking for a sweater of Kashmir womens here is some information that you should consider.

First of all, where you shop for your cashmere? I like to shop online, as find it me enjoyable and relaxing. But remember, you must first find a society deemed cashmere to buy. My favorite is Kashmir mountain, one of the companies of clothing cashmere of superior quality in North America. They offer quality, superb, very personal and some of the best prices, you've seen.

When I started shopping for cashmere line, I have to do my research, such as cashmere not all of the same. The finest cashmere, come only from the neck of goats in Mongolia hair. Many cashmere market good products uses the hairs of the leg and stomach, and you can certainly say, as Kashmir just feels not good and does not last.

So do your homework and ask questions. You want to find a lot of information on the website of the company that you are about to, but why not also give them a call; ask the staff about the quality of their Kashmir and where they get.

If you're an online shopper like me, you know that sometimes returns may have to occur. Sure many that know that the companies return policy and procedures, to see if you agree with them and that it can meet their.
white_turtle_neck_womens_cashmere_sweaterOn one of my latest shopping experiences with my Kashmir favorite online business, I had ordered a womens cashmere sweater, rolled over white pass, (this is a gift from my husband birthday) but it did not exactly how I Although it should be. If I call girls in the store, and the return process was so simple, that I have had my new just a week, and I love it. It is an image of their catalog of it online, is it not nice?

Thus, where ever you shop online, I hope find you a womens nice cashmere sweater. And if you check out Mt. Cashmere, and you are talking to staff, tell them that says Samantha of Colorado hi!

Salted caramel recipe with a secret ingredient

This salted caramel recipe has no salt as an ingredient.  Instead it uses salted caramel recipe-miso something salty!  I got the idea for a salted caramel recipe with miso miso ice cream after and several people have commented that it tasted like salted caramel.  I developed the salted caramel recipe on my own (I don't think it has already been done), and could not be more satisfied with the results.

I licked the spoon, I licked the spatula, I almost my tongue stuck in the pot, and my only regret after it salted caramel put my ginger pear cupcakes that there was not a larger proportion of caramel to cupcake.  The miso caramel is more than just salted caramel-it is salted caramel with depth (miso brings a taste of his own beyond just salt) and an Asian flair.  If I could history again, this would be salted caramel recipe used to sweeten tea during tea ceremonies in old tea houses to lush Japanese mountains.

Salted caramel recipe

This salted caramel recipe is adapted from the strong sea salt caramel in the sea salt caramel brownies found on them is becoming increasingly doughmesstic and originally found in a sweet and salty cake in baked: new frontiers inBaking.
1 tablespoon red miso paste2 El water1 c sugar2 tbsp light corn syrup1 teaspoon vanilla1/4 C sour creamIn a small cup, Los the miso in the water. In a medium saucepan over high heat, combine the sugar and glucose syrup. Cook for 6-8 minutes or until the sugar is a medium goldish brown runs, stirring constantly. Then remove from the fire.  (I tend to burn sugar.  Susan from "she is getting doughmesstic" remembered in the instructions that even after removing the sugar from the heat, it will continue to cook.  It is best to the too early than too late.  I've listened, and these caramel not burn.  Yippee!) Cool for one minute.Add the vanilla and miso and stir quickly to combine.Whisk in the sour cream.Cool to room temperature. However, you want to use-sprinkled on fruit, fingers, on ice or on cupcakes!

Oklahoma sugar Art Show 2010 in Tulsa

October comes quickly, and we are excited, because we must participate in the Oklahoma sugar Art Show in Tulsa 2. October and October 3. This is Prime cake decoration event for sugar artists from all over the world and believe it or not, Director, top sugar artist Kerry Vincent food network challenge, has asked us to come to judge a cupcake competition. This promises to be no general contest. The theme is Nursery Rhymes and fairy tales. Can't wait to see what participants do with that. Your Womens Cashmere sweater - where wool comes?

I did some research on the past on Kashmir and where the best quality cashmere has and this is some interesting information.  When I'm looking for a sweater of Kashmiri women, it is very important for me, which is the best quality cashmere and with diligence, will last for many years to come.

The Kashmir GoatCashmere goat

Kashmir had much praise and acclaim but much really do not know how your sweater came to be.  Kashmir is in reality the fur of the humble Kashmir goat, which is harvested during their moulting seasons.  Kashmir in China, the India, Tibet, and even the Iran can be found, but it is commonly know that Kashmir goats with the most beautiful furs are found in the upper regions of the Mongolia and the Nepal.

History shows us that of many Kings and rulers of the centuries previously, have given their close cashmere clothes as gifts by the beauty of the wool and the status it has because of its great value.

To make Kashmir fine womens Jersey, must be a cashmere goat four to five years to throw enough fur, the region of his neck, to produce enough cashmere to make this garment.  Yes, the fur of the neck of the goat, will be the most beautiful cashmere.  be aware for Kashmir and Kashmir collected mixtures goats area back and legs, as this will not result in Kashmir of nest.

As I mentioned my favorite line, Mount Cashmere company, uses only the finest fur neck of Kashmir found regions of Mongolia and the Nepal.

A cleaning for your cashmere is also very important because of its fine quality, you want to last forever.  Garments knitted cashmere, gentle hand wash, preferable to a shampoo for Kashmir and supported on a towel to dry.  When you use a suitable shampoo, as the product that I receive from Mt. Cashmere, you not even to rinse your garment out after washing, as shampoo rest as a Packer. Don't forget to keep your cashmere somewhere fresh and dry.

I hope that this information has been help for you.

Feb 21, such as knitting with strands of molten butter.

What I like knitting with cashmere yarn?

Who wouldn't be?

It's like knitting with strands of molten butter. As a relatively new knitter 8 years ago, I decided to do my grandmother a Cashmere shawl for her 80th birthday party.

I chose a sample from the cover of Spin Off, beautiful white lace pattern. My first attempt. You can stop laughing now.

It took me a long time to do a scarf, I thought I'd miss her birthday. After a few nervous moments, as when a cat with one of the balls or yarn; When you drag a couple of stitches or when I needed to RIP errors, everything went well, until I realized that was not enough yarn!.

So I search Google and trade on the East Coast, which was not only the same yarn and colour, but the same dye lot. I live in the Midwest.

Finally got a scarf over and sent it to her before her 80th birthday party.

By the way-it is not recommended that you get chocolate in knitting, with Kashmir, I need to soak some chocolate stains from scarf to Sail before blocking, and Grandma.
